The waters in and around Christchurch are renowned for providing the best all-round fishing in the country. Visiting anglers are well catered for with short term permits being available for most of the best fisheries in the area.
Coarse fishing on the famous Hampshire Avon and Dorset Stour is excellent with good numbers of specimen barbel, chub, roach, dace, bream, carp and pike regularly caught. Still-water fisheries in the surrounding area also provide good carp, tench, roach and pike fishing.
Coarse, seatrout and salmon fishing is available at the famous Royalty Fishery.
Fly-fishing for rainbow trout is available at several well stocked still-water day ticket fisheries within easy reach of the town. detailed brochures are available on request.
Sea angling in Christchurch Harbour at Stanpit is particularly good during the Spring and Summer months for bass and grey mullet, while nearby Mudeford and historic Hengistbury Head offer plenty of scope for beachcasting all year round.
