The Davis Tackle S/U Avon Special is a traditional through action 11ft two piece 1lb 10oz TC rod for 6lb to 10lb lines, with slim profile lined guides, threaded end ring and dark green colour whippings. It is built exclusively for Davis Tackle by Harrison Advanced Rods of Liverpool, England from top quality carbon blanks and fittings with full cork handles. Although they are designed with practicality in mind, they are also pleasing to the eye. Each rod is tastefully finished with epoxy varnish over dark colour whippings (no flashy cosmetics!) and supplied in a good quality partitioned cloth bag.
This rod is a "stepped up" version of our own Avon Special and is ideal for barbel fishing in heavy water conditions and big rivers where that extra bit of power is required. This rod doubles up nicely for salmon shrimping and light tackle carping. Finished with green whippings. These rods are used exclusively by many big fish experts and have been used to land barbel to almost 16lbs as well as chub to over 7lbs. They are offered with a choice of either Fuji or John Roberts (sliding rings) reel fittings. Please specify your preference when ordering.
