Since the last report there have been two further salmon taken from the Royalty. On Sunday Tony Timms landed his first fish of the season from the Royalty on a devon minnow fished in the traditional manner through Trammels. Yesterday Jeff Godfrey had his second Royalty in a week when a 10lb cock took his Mepps when he was fishing the Piles.
Fish are being seen more often over the past two weeks with one evening in particular offering the anglers fishing the Great Weir a number of sightings of salmon as they entered the pool. Unfortunately these fish seemed to have passed up the system straight away as if their tails were on fire. Indeed I have heard that one of the fish that North End landed this season was still covered in tide lice! Thats some speed of upstream migration for that particular fish.
