Since the last report there have been another two salmon taken on the Royalty. Firstly, on Wednesday, Dennis Savage landed a fresh 14lb cock from Trammels on a Mepps. Yesterday Jeff Godfrey had the best fish of the season so far on the Royalty when he landed a lovely 18lb fish from Jacks Corner on a Devon Minnow.
The first rods of the season fished the Bridge Pool on Wednesday and both anglers were rewarded with sea trout weighing over 4lbs each. On Thursday local angler Brian Goulding fished the Bridge Pool for a few hours and his best sea trout was also over 4lbs. On both days fish were reported that were hooked and subsequently lost after a long fight. These anglers were taking advantage of the reduced price for the Bridge Pool in the period leading up to June 16th. when two anglers can fly fish and spin for salmon and sea trout from the punt for only £45 which is half the regular price.
